Gong Hei Fatt Choy: Rawr! - Wrapping Up

As all good things are enjoyed, somehow they must come to an end too. I'm definitely feeling the post-CNY blues. Will be starting work tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure, a load of work awaits on my desk.

Early Thursday morning, accompanied Papa to fetch Su En to the airport. She has to work on Friday, with her flight leaving at 11:40am.

Took us a darn long time to look for Papa. Good news is that he is finally owning a handphone. Bad news is that, he is not carrying it out -__- Su En and I were both going around the airport, way after checking in. Finally just as we got tired and found ourselves seats did we saw him strolling towards us. When asked, he said he was sembang-ing with a friend.

-_-

Treated them to ice-cream from McD.

Cloudless sky.
Felt very down after dropping Su En off, it's like a realization of the CNY coming to an end. Then coming back to Pickles who also looked down hehe. Poor little girl would have no one else to play with once I return to KL too.

Haihz.
Dinner that night at Ah Ma's place. Tua Ee and Ah Ma outdid themselves again cooking dinner because Kelly will be joining us.

Tableful of goodness

Consists mostly my favorite stuff too.

Omelette and salted chicken. Omelette would be Boy's favorite. He can hentam 5 eggs, even more sometimes.

Cabbage soup with tu tor (pork belly). Pork belly a bit rubbery though but nevertheless loved it with my fave cili padi and soy sauce.

Kelly was down with a cold but it didn't occurred to me to get her another set of cutleries lol... so we shared every single bacteria -__-

And kerabu!
It's the usual shredded mango, shallots, bunga kantan, and those black-ish stuff if I'm not mistaken is black fungus or something like that.

One of the last dinners for this CNY together :(

And one final picture of Pickles helping me to vacuum the kitchen after I accidentally dropped her doggie biscuits all over the floor.

Gong Hei Fatt Choy:Rawr! - Meeting up Friends

The one time of the year when all my schoolmates, classmates are gathered in the small town of SP.

Ok, I shouldn't have said small town anymore. There were SOOO many cars around Lagenda Heights area it is scary! Took me close to 15-20 minutes just to go around a block and find parking. Even then also I was unsuccessful and parked 200m away from the intended block.

Met up with my ex- Pre-U classmates back in Khir Johari first.

@ Autum.

My good friend Li Chin. Very nice person and the closest to me throughout my Form6 studies.

L-R Sher Ting, Yih Shian and Soon Loong. Sher Ting has been looking pretty much the same since our school days lol. Her baby face tak ubah 1 inch langsung.

ROFL. Mom commented that the girls all sui sui but then how come the guys all macam beh khi? hehehehhe.... I think most guys studying Physics is itu macam lah.

With Shing Ling. Her transformation is geng! Used to be pretty tomboy-ish character and always in T-shirts and shorts.

Then ran off to bites (cafe opened by Yee Nee, Convent senior, Su En's batch) to meet up with my longest (?) friends.

Everyone's looking good ;)
Only Sue Wern I haven't seen for the longest time. The others still meet every now and then in KL.

Had an older batch of Conventians next to our table hehe... Kavitta (top left in blue) used to be our Ketua Pengawas.

Then who else do we meet right after? Only natural to bump into our batch's very own Head Prefect Loo Jamaine lol.

Hardly recognize her! Also because it's been a long time since then.... Hahahhaa.. and Tze Imm was laughing her head off when she saw her so we took that as a sign of pleasure upon meeting her again.

Loo Jamaine, please return our liquid papers to us.

:end:

Gong Hei Fatt Choy: Rawr! - The Place called Home

Probably the most presentable time of the entire year, scrubbed from top to bottom till raw.

Plants outside the garden.

Baby Noni tree.

The place I call home.
What's that down yonder?

Yikes!

Pickles' favorite place to doze. On the carpet that is until Mom shoos her off or Papa growls :p

Won't ever get bored of this shade of blue.

Where yummy food and happy contented family co-exist.

^^.

Gong Hei Fatt Choy: Rawr! - Day 2

It is well-known that I am a healthy person so to further stress on that, I shall post pictures that
I even exercised during the CNY period.

Jogged ~ 5 rounds or so. What's that bottle?

Gasp... some horny man drinking some libido-charging liqour? Outside my house?!

Mom siap put out a sign to scare off horny men. Or dirt-y men. Geddit? Ok lame -__-

For some reason I like this shot.

@ Ah Ma's !
Which do you prefer?

Then we dined in Bali!

Okla, Bali not. It's this new restaurant pretty close to Ah Ma's place. Balinese style decor, quaint little lake complete with the circular thingy that scoops water out and rotates, spills out forgot what's it called -__-

Precious ones in tow

Oozing with sweetness :D

Min CC's top sooo cute! Hao lian-ed from Marc Jacobs.

Su En bought the dress for me! 3 of us were wearing the same sort of dresses with different designs. I liked Su En's best :)

Pu Er Cha that Mom & Dad boiled for 7 hours. 7 hours k. Supposed to be damn geng and I am told to stress that it's 7 hours ok.

The table is darn huge, carved from a whole log of wood. But spaces were limited and as I was going around taking pictures, I could only find this pathetic little space T-T

Neh, the rotating scoop water thing.

Wood everywhere
The restaurant typically serve Thai food, but as it is a busy season during the CNY, so there is only one option, the CNY package and no ala carte orders are entertained.

Appetizer!Otak in the middle, kerabu, and assorted cold stuff on the sides.
Sharks fin soup T-T
I think this is the salted egg prawns
I had my first taste of tuak/toddy that night!
Tuak is the result of young coconut with sugar and what not fermented.
Veg dish
Grilled pigeons
Aunts called them 'chiao kia' rofl. This is very yumz.

Fish floss kerabu.

Assam fishThe experts (cooks and housewives I mean) reviewed that this is no good. Not sour enough and not spicy enough. Ah Ma makes better assam fish.

Whole bottle of toddy. Btw, when the first bottle of todi was delivered to us, the taste was horribly sour! Like something gone bad.

Suspecting that we were given less than fresh toddy stock, we called the kelena who sells them (and climbs up the coconut trees) to exchange. He complied and brought us a fresh bottle.

The taste is much better, sweet! It's no wonder that one can easily get drunk drinking these. The drink is so refreshing that you wouldn't think twice filling your cup after another.

Smokers club.

Family photo!
But too bad Su Jen is not around :(

Anyway females rule in the family kekekke.

Last main to be served. Yam fried rice.

Then we lou!
Ice cream for dessert -_-
This is the Ko Cha Bi batch, 6 different flavours. Since I took the pictures, so I was the nearest one to snatch the flavor of my choice hehe. Took the red bean mia;)

Boy chia.... not!Young 'uns leading Ah Ma.

Kesi kesi read newspapers.

Mom leading the group in family K-session! Hehe.More wine

Ian Kor's cute socks! It's like he put those socks on, kemek-ed a couple of gingerbread men.

Mom vs Daughter

Ah Ma's jade and mine :D

Thank God it's the end of the post... Finally a group photo!

Next post I think will be on the house :D
